Junior Energy Management Apprenticeship Level 3

Due to the rise of the cost of energy the UK will become on the most competitive market places for energy management skills over the next 5 to 7 years. There is a major shortage of trained energy managers. This apprenticeship will help to address the need for basic in-house energy management skills which can benefit your organisation and lead to long term savings. Energy managers can come from all types of companies and industries, including hospitality, leisure, retail, banking, manufacturing, construction and property.

Qualifications Included

On successful completion of this programme individuals will receive the following;

  • Junior Energy Manager Apprenticeship at Level 3

  • Level 2 Functional Skills, English (If required)

  • Level 2 Functional Skills, Maths (If required)

  • Membership of an Energy Management Professional Body

Programme Delivery

This training programme can be delivered on your company site or through online sessions. Apprentices will be given access to our digital platform allowing them to access resources, assignments and tests of understanding.

 
 
Duration of training

This training programme can take up to 24 months to complete.

 
 
Course Content

This Apprenticeship offers a balance of technical training and on the job assessments to match your employers needs and requirements. Knowledge and Assessment units include:

  • How energy flows in an out of buildings, equipment and processes and how key energy systems operate.

  • Understand the economics of energy consumption, supply and demand of energy, sustainability issues and role of the organisation in tackling them.

  • Test and maintain procedures of equipment and processes used to determine energy performance and how inefficiencies arise and how to improve energy performance.

  • Relevant level of theory and practices that underpin the energy efficient use of equipment, processes and IT systems.

  • Understand the principles of energy loss assessment.

  • Know how to read meters and sub-meters, collect, record and analyse metered data and interpret manufacturer’s installation and maintenance requirements.

  • Know how to understand a bill, set an energy baseline and identify variables that affect energy consumption in organisations, and how to query and challenge bills with suppliers.
