Level 2 Certificate in Self-harm and Suicide Awareness and Prevention

The aim of this qualification is to educate individuals in spotting signs of self-harm and suicide and helping to prevent further harm by encouraging individuals to seek help. This qualification is designed to be applied to a range of circumstances and professional/personal situations including teachers, support workers, mental health workers and parents or guardians.

Eligibility

This training programme is fully funded for those aged 19 and over (Eligibility is generally unemployed and in receipt of benefits).

Course Delivery & Duration

This is a distance learning programme which requires you to have access to a computer and internet. Once enrolled you will be given access to our digital platform with online learning materials and online assessments. This course can take up to 8 weeks to complete.

Course Content

Units covered during this programme include;

  • Introduction to suicide and self-harm awareness

  • Recognise the signs of suicide and self-harm in individuals

  • The principles of suicide and self-harm prevention

  • Support for individuals when dealing with grief after suicide
