Logistics and Transport Course
Fully funded training with job opportunities upon completion of the course.

This programme is designed for anyone entering the logistic & transport sector. This is a fully funded training programme to help people to get back into work and gain the necessary transferable skills valued by employers across a range of industries and sectors.

Eligibility & Course Delivery

This training programme is fully funded for those aged 19 or over (Eligibility is generally unemployed and in receipt of benefits) or earn less than £17,374.50 per year. There are limited places available for this exclusive course, so what you need to consider before you enrol: you must hold a driving licence and be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Stage 1 (All learners can do this stage)

The first part of the course is delivered in up to 6 weeks. (duration depends on which qualifications are taken). This involves learning about the industry and what employers will expect. Hours of work, opportunities, different types of work involved.


This course is only available to people living within a Tees Valley Postcode.

Course Content

Units covered during this programme include;

  • Introduction to logistics

  • Introduction to customer service within Logistics

  •  Health, safety and security at work

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operations

  • Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment within the logistics industry

  • Certificate in Customer Service in the Logistics Industry

  •  Certificate in Logistics Operations

Stage 2 (You can only progress to stage 2 if you have successfully completed Stage 1)

After successfully completing stage 1 and demonstrating a full commitment to working in the industry, you may be asked if you wish to progress on to stage 2. This section of the programme can take 2 to 4 months to complete all of the components. (depending on whether you already have a medical and/or theory tests) If you pass your driving test we can get you signed up with an agency for at least a 16.5 hour a week contract. (Please note progression to this stage is highly sought after and not all learners will be able to progress straight away)

Next Steps

Upon completion of the course, you will have the opportunity to sign up with an agency who will provide you with at least 16.5 hours work per week.
